Pewdiepie’s New Game Is Shit

Pewdiepie, the most famous Youtuber, has recently promoted a new game in addition to his continuously growing empire. And it’s about shit. Yes, you read that right.

The title of the game is Poopdie, a poop crafting adventure game. Who would’ve thought of that? Well, Pewdiepie and Bulbware did. It has cartoonish graphics making it less gross but on some parts it still is. If you have low gross tolerance then this game isn’t for you. Poopdie was released on December 9, 2019. It has already gathered over ten thousand downloads as of posting and more than one thousand reviews with a 3.9 rating on Google Play Store. But it’s currently not available for iOS, yet.

In a video of Pewdiepie showcasing the game, he stated that Poopdie was taken down from the App Store because Apple thought it was “stinky” and did not meet their standards. He assured them they’re fixing the issue along with the other bugs of the game. So iOS people, hold your horses or better get an Android.

What is the game about?

The game follows Poopdie, a sad little worm, who has a farting disorder. He will produce poops if he collects enough carrots. The poops will then act as his minions to fight his battles. The poops die whilst fighting so he will need to continuously collect carrots to produce more.

Poopdie’s ultimate goal is to defeat the evil Samron and his army of horrid and stinky creatures.

The Devs

Bulbware is an indie game studio headed by Artur Mikolajczyk and Szymon Lukasik. They are based in Krakow, Poland. Poopdie is their second mobile game addition after Bulb Boy, a 2d horror puzzle. Personal Experience I’ve played the game for a couple of hours and it’s quite engaging for a dungeon crawler game. The characters are fun and go well with the story. The controls are smooth and haven’t experienced delays. The difficulty is okay but there is some balancing needed.

Here are the pros and cons of the game.

Pros

● Narrated by Pewdiepie. That’s a pro, right?

● Story. A good game always has a story to engage players.

● Easy controls. You can play it with one hand, literally.

● It has quests so it’s not just senseless pooping.

● Boss fights. Who doesn’t love boss fights?

● Good graphics and sound effects.

● It’s FREE.

Cons

● Some boss fights have an imbalanced difficulty spike. A great example is Bumdalf who has insane health and damage. And fighting him goes through different phases. The first phase was hard enough for me.

● It requires an internet connection. A game like this should be playable offline.

● Some bugs but that’s expected.

● Ads. I don’t like how they incorporated the ads. After finishing the first quest an ad suddenly popped into my face with a warning that if I close this I will lose my reward. Sucks, right? I know devs need revenue but pop-up ads are just a big turn off. Having ads is okay if players can choose whether they want to see it or not.

Conclusion

Overall the game is good and well-crafted. You could see that the devs put their hearts into producing this game, and with Pewdiepie involved Poopdie should not be a flop. Bulbware just needs to handle the community well. Honestly, this indie company is quite promising. I’m looking forward to more games from them. They just need to have new ways of getting revenue and they should be fine. So if you’re a fan of Pewdiepie and isn’t bothered by poops, then this game is for you.
